Brentford today completed the widely touted transfer of Scott Hogan from Rochdale.

The 22-year-old  striker bagged an impressive 17 goals in 33 League matches for the Spotland side last term after signing from non-League Hyde last summer.

Whilst the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, a figure of around £750k has been suggested by various media sources, although part of the fee is likely to be linked to appearances and success.

Hogan is believed to have been attracting attention from a number of Championship sides, with Leeds United taking the unusual step of denying speculation related to him joining the Yorkshire club on their official website earlier this month.

Hogan could be an ideal signing for the Bees as he is able to play anywhere across the front three – he also fits the current blueprint of aquiring young, ambitious players who have the ability to improve .

He is expected to make his Brentford ‘debut’ in tomorrow night’s friendly at Barnet.
