Brentford have today completed the signing of Nico Yennaris on a free transfer from Arsenal – as rumoured by @beesotted on twitter over the weekend

Londoner Yennaris, who is 20, has played for the Gunners throughout their youth system and also skippered their academy side during the Next Gen series – presumably where he first came up on Mark Warburton’s radar. He has also represented England at U17, U18 and U19 level and previously had loan spells at Notts County and Bournemouth.

Nico, who can play at both right back and in midfield, made his Premier League debut as a substitute for Arsenal against Manchester United in 2012. He has also appeared as a mascot for Arsenal vs Coventry City when he was a wee nipper – a photo of him standing next to Tony Adams appears here, the little cutie.

We believe that appropriate sell-on clauses are likely to have been agreed with Arsenal in order to allow Yennaris to sign on a permanent rather than loan basis, similar to the agreements that we reached with Everton when signing Adam Forshaw and Jake Bidwell.
