Tribute to Russell Slade
Fans at Brentford’s final game in Division 1 against Stevenage will be in for a treat.

Beesotted have prepared a special tribute to Russell Slade who famously moaned “They celebrated like the won the FA Cup” after his Orient side were beaten by 10 men Brentford at Brisbane Road earlier this season – a result which moved Brentford into poll position in the promotion race.

It will be a comment that he will never forget as Brentford fans adopted the phrase as a victory chant which will no doubt go on for years and years. Saturday’s little shenanigans will also be very special … He won’t forget that in a hurry you can guarantee.

Hashtag – #RussellSladeCup

King Kev in the 500 Club

Rumour has it king Kev O’Connor will join the 500 club on Saturday – his 500th appearance in a Brentford shirt. Since he made his debut away to Exeter in 1999, Kev has played for one team and one team only – a mighty impressive feat in nowadays era of so called mercenary players and club hoppers. Kev recently extended his contract for another year and is looking forward to moving into coaching in the very near future.

Season tickets on sale next week

As Brentford fans busily get themselves ready for snapping up early bird season tickets for next year’s Championship campaign, it has got us here at Beesotted wondering how many people will be motivated to dip into their pockets to invest in a Bees championship season ticket.

Interestingly, looking around it appears that Port Vale have sold over 2,800 early bird season tickets and the season is not even finished yet, according to onevalefan.co.uk. Fairly impressive considering the cheapest adult ticket to watch a season of League One football at Port Vale is ÂŁ325. That’s only ÂŁ20 less than the cheapest ticket to watch Brentford in the Championship. So if those figures are anything to go buy, technically season ticket sales should fly when they go on sale next week.

Investing in youth

Getwestlondon have reported that defender Aaron Pierre and striker Luke Norris have been offered new deals after impressing on loan this season at Wycombe and Dagenham respectively.

Norris joined the Daggers after scoring 5 goals in 9 games for Northampton and has netted a further 3 in East London.

Hot shots Manny Oyeleke and Alfie Mawson are also being offered new contracts as the club look to build a young, hungry backbone that can support the commitments of a Championship squad.
