Shaelum Logan has left Brentford on loan to Aberdeen with a view to a permanent move.
Beesotted got wind of a loan move for Logan a couple of weeks ago alongside the news of the potential move of Nico Yennaris from Arsenal. We decided to not make the move public at the time as he had just regained his place in the side and the team was ‘firing on all cylinders’.
The potential move was flagged up by Get West London last night and confirmed by the club later today (Thursdsay).
The lining up of young exciting talented up and coming players like Yennaris, Dean, Forshaw, Bidwell and potentially Harris and Trotta sets out Brentford’s stall for the future. We are not only looking to get promotion this season but are eager to set firm foundations with a team that will grow with us in the Championship.
Logan, who is out of contract in the summer, has probably played his last game for The Bees and will be missed by many fans. An incredibly talented player who had some fantastic moments at Brentford including that killer goal at Port Vale.
He has been currently relegated to reserve right back and obviously doesn’t feature in the club’s future plans so maybe a move away will offer him a well needed fresh start.

I wish him all the best for the future. He was solid enough at right back but in fairness, if we’re looking to kick on, McCormack has shown the standard of a proper marauding right back, who can not only tackle, has great positional sense and who can bomb forward and deliver a killer ball in to the box at will. Unfortunately for Logan this has severly highlighted his weaknesses at switching off too often, getting caught out positionaly and his need to always take a touch and cutting back on to other foot before crossing (mainly inaccurate) balls in to the box.
I hope things work out for him in Scotland though. Good move for both parties. Let’s hope Yennaris is the real deal but with Warburtons other very shrewd signings and his contacts in UK football, mostly at higher level clubs, who are we to doubt him. A special mention must go to Matthew Benham too who seems to be backing this promotion bid unquestionably, securing our move to a new stadium and setting us up for the ‘nose bleed-like’ territory of a mid table Championship club. Adam Forshaw even suggested that in 5 years time, Brentford will be a Premiership team. If this continues, it will be very strange supporting a successful Brentford, after all these years of mediocrity. We’ll all need to adjust big style. Long may it continue.
Come on you Bees!!!
