Bye Bye Ryan Woods? Why Alfie Mawson Never Had A Chance. Yennaris Going East?

Bye Bye Ryan Woods? Why Alfie Mawson Never Had A Chance. Yennaris Going East?

The new season is almost upon us. And the Beesotted crew met up at The Distillers Pub in Hammersmith – in a beach hut in the garden – to discuss all things Brentford.

And there was plenty to talk about including the rumoured courting of Ryan Woods by various clubs including Swansea. Will he stay or will he go? And if he goes, who will replace him from within Brentford? And from outside?

Plus the rumour of Nico Yennaris being sold has been circulating. But we have locked down exactly what club seems to be tickling his fancy by going on a stag do route of Eastern Europe before going farther East.

Then we hear it from the horses mouth. Alfie Mawson himself. Out on a night at the boxing in Manchester. His pathway to the first team was blocked – hence he decided to make his moves away from the club. But who was it at Brentford who blocked him getting any first team action?

We have a new feature – Games Gone! – looking back at the good olde days. When the game was absolutely perfect.

Off the back of the Beesotted poll, where over 60% of the 500 people who responded felt that The Bees would finish in the Top 6 – we look back at the pre season reviews by the podcast guests who reviewed Brentford’s last season and made their predictions for the forthcoming season.

Then we look forwards to the first match of the season with Rotherham fan Axholme Miller who gives us his thoughts in Five From the Hive.

And the Beesotted crew give their predictions on the Rotherham game.

In the pub: Billy Grant, Dave Lane, Liberal Nick Carthew, Jimmy Mac.

A point at Elland Road. Unbeaten. A great first half. A slightly squeaky-bum second. And, perhaps most importantly, a growing sense that Brentford are no longer anybody’s plucky little underdog. After chewing the fat with Bees and Leeds fans outside Elland Road, here...

The Bee Job Question

The Great Brentford Song Scam

The Great Brentford Song Scam

For years Brentford fans have constantly been evolving the songs they employ to support their team. Scientists and historians, such as myself, rarely take an interest in such forms of tribal worship. But, after being approached by Beesotted to take a closer look at...

I was in the Navy during the War serving on H.M.S. Cairo (pictured above) when in 1942, Brentford played Portsmouth at Wembley, in the war-time F.A. Cup Final. I couldn’t attend as I was stationed in the Mediterranean around Gibraltar but my father went to the game...
