Lasse Vibe has signed for Chinese Super League Club Changchun Yatai.

The deal has been ongoing from the summer and has been talked about numerous times on the Beesotted Pride of West London podcast. With Vibe set to move to China in the summer, complications in the deal meant that the Chinese transfer window shut before the deal could be completed (14th July).

As a result, Changchun Yatai came back into the frame towards the back end of this January window and the deal was finally sealed when the striker was out in Spain at the Chinese team’s training camp.

There was a rumour of Vibe joining 2nd Division Yaniban FC. Beesotted can confirm this move was never on the cards.

The complexity of the deal and the logistics around acquiring a visa for Vibe meant the transfer was not able to be finalised before the English window closed at the end of January.

Brentford will earn £2m from the deal.

Changchun Yatai are one of the big spending teams in China. They finished 12th in the Chinese super league last season but this season they are expecting to do a lot better and have been linked with a few big money signings.

Last year they signed Odion Ighalo from Watford for £20m and this window there were rumours of them signing Fernando Karanga from CSKA Sofia. They also offered €20m for Galatasaray player Jonathon Viera and have been linked with €10m rated Younes Belhanda.
