Well summarised……we don’t need the excuse of the off pitch issues to be affecting the on pitch season. We were dire in the first half at The Valley, Charlton saw our perceived weakness and threw plenty of long stuff diagonally over the full backs, making a wide pitch even bigger, rather as Wolves, Norwich and Ipswich had tried previously. We should recognise we have been fortunate that our defence has been settled and relatively injury/suspension free, but we all knew we were on borrowed time in that area. Our lack of strengthening in that area has now put us on the back foot, as has back up/ support to the growing talent that is Andre Gray, mi’lord.
So,it seems that Mr McP has been the mole, but I am reassured that the playing management are staying until seasons end. At least we have continuity.
Anyone making any comparisons with previous regimes know not their arm joint from their backsides.
U Bees!!!!!!
Spot on Billy, I remember those grim, dark days. Anyone who compares Benham with WÂŁbb (long time since I did that variation on his name) and Noades has no idea what they’re talking about.
Everyone today will make a mistake, most of them are out of best intention. I might not agree with all this and indeed, I’d rather we carried on playing our sexy football in a ramshackle Griffin Park, but none of us knows the full ins and outs of what’s been going on or for how long. It’s a long time since I took notice of the inner workings of Brentford FC, reason being it takes the fun out of my Saturday afternoons. I don’t want to gossip about the latest little titbit which makes me “in the know” as it doesn’t make me a better person. Instead I have to trust the people in charge, accept they’re doing a better job than I ever could and acknowledge they’re spending money I’ll never have, even with multiple lottery wins.
The events of the last week have for now somewhat tarnished a fabulous season, but I wouldn’t put it beyond the ability of Mark Warburton and his colleagues to deliver Brentford to the Premier League. Whether I want to be there is another kettle of fish entirely, but I guess I’ll go if and when it happens. See you at Old Trafford.
