There was chat about this on the GPG last week. No real surprise about the speculation but as the club statement reads we could be planning for if Warbs is poached, or we could be looking to add this chap to the management team.
Personally think BFC need a far more qualified and capable Head of Press / Communications.
This story has been floating around social media since Feb 3rd and no one at the club moved to shut the Spanish coach down, despite the obvious embarrassment over him spilling the beans about a presumably unofficial, discrete and private conversation with MB and CC. This morning only Mark Devlin got out of bed to defend the club on Twitter. The press release by the Bees was too late and too lame and all it has served to do is fuel the fire. Today we have had our PR pants royally pulled down by one journo. Poor. Very poor.
What can you say? All is looking rosy and now this. Changing manager would be an incredibly silly move by Brentford. The management team has done sterling work to bring in all the players that they have and keeping the status quo is vital for continued success. This will be a bigger blow than losing any one single player and it seems incredible that such a move is even being considered.
Hi, I’m a Rayo Vallecano fan googling for info about Paco Jemez to Brentford. If this news is true you should be very excited.
I’m also a Southampton season ticket holder and see the Warburton situation to potentially be similar to when we lost Pochettino. He is clearly highly thought of and the Brentford board would be wise to plan for his successor if the worst comes to the worst.
But Jemez is genuinely brilliant, a bit crazy, but performing miracles with a ever changing band of loaners and free transfers. If he becomes the new bees boss I shall definitely be attending some Brentford games next season.
As a Watford fan and somebody who has worked with Warburton, I think a few things should be made clear.
But firstly I would like to congratulate you as a club for what you have achieved. Your success reminds me of what happened to us back in the 80’s when we got promoted and finished runners-up in the old 1st Division. Little Watford can be swatted away. But hey you are there on merit and you should remember Uwe Rossler for the good work he put in place. I would also like to thank all your stewards and staff for the hospitality and warm welcome we received on Tuesday night. Despite winning, for me it reminded me of old games we have had in the past and the friendly rivalry we have shared. Long may that continue.
With regards to Warburton, I don’t know the facts. What I do know is that he is a very driven selfish animal who would kill his own granny to climb the ladder. Just think about how someone who was a trader in the City suddenly climbed to Academy Manager in 4 years…… via the Chelsea community program, but you make your own conclusions on that. He got sacked at Watford for doing just those things. As I say I don’t know the truth about the current episode, but he has always touted himself and politically moved up the ladder very quickly. Yes he seems demure, but NO he is not. It would not surprise me IF he had been touting for other jobs higher up the ladder. Whether the truth will come out I don’t know, but the day after Lambert gets the sack from Villa! Nothing would surprise me with him.
But enough about him, and want to thank you all at Brentford for a great night out on Tuesday. And NOT just because we won, but I hope the rest of the season goes well for you as long as you are 1 place below us.
