On the face if it, today’s announcement that Will Grigg will be joining MK Dons on a season-long loan, is a fantastic piece of business for Brentford Football Club.
I’m sure the finer financial details will stay secret: whether or not the plastic club will be covering all of Grigg’s wage bill is unlikely, however, the striker undoubtedly needs consistent game-time and another fresh start after a season of frustration and injury last time out. Quite how Walsall Football Club’s windfall appearance payments are affected, who knows/cares.
A season spent warming the bench in the Championship was hardly ideal for either player or club – Grigg deserves the chance to shine again and I personally wish him the best of luck in putting 2013/14 behind him and establishing his repution.
Thinking positively for a moment, The Bees will either get back a more confident, prolific International calibre goal getter … Or… MK will buy him after impressing.
Another important factor is that the sensible thing has happened… This is an honest and proactive solution to an unhealthy situation.
